Ride A Bike In Central Park

You can rent a bike at the Loeb Boathouse and take a fun bike tour around Central Park.  The Loeb Boathouse offers a lakeside restaurant, outside bar, and express cafe if you want a little nosh before you head out for your bike ride. From 10am until 6pm daily–Cruisers, 21-speeds, and children’s bicycles are available for rent on a first come, first serve basis. Bicycles are not to be taken out of Central Park. All rentals require ID and a $200 cash or credit card deposit. The Loeb Boathouse will provide helmets. All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Shuffleboard at Royal Palms

Weather too hot? Stay cool and active at Royal Palms Shuffleboard.  The Royal Palms is a walk-in shuffleboard club and courts are rented for $40/hr on a first come first served basis. If you are a shuffleboard fanatic, you can join one of their shuffleboard leagues. Royal Palms always maintain courts for walk ins and if there’s a line, they limit play to one hour per party to try to get as many people on the courts as possible.  Royal Palms is a 21+ club and not suitable for families with young children.

Get Tropical At Riff Raffs

Shakespeare In The Park is one of NYC’s best free summer activities.  The 2015 season of Shakespeare in the park features The Tempest and Cymbeline.  All performances start at 8 pm.

The Tempest runs May 17 to July 5.  Academy Award nominee Sam Waterston (Newsroom, Law & Order, The Public’s King Lear) and Jesse Tyler Ferguson(Modern Family, The Comedy of Errors) return in THE TEMPEST, Shakespeare’s classic about young love, old enemies and the eternal magic of storytelling.

Cymbeline runs July 23 to August 23, 2015.  Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan (King Lear, The Comedy of Errors, Proof) directs the Shakespearean fairy tale CYMBELINE, featuring Tony nominee Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater. In the Shakespearean fairytale CYMBELINE, Princess Imogen’s fidelity is put to the royal test when her disapproving father banishes her soul mate. Cross-dressing girls and cross-dressing boys, poisons and swordfights and dastardly villains all take the stage in this enchanting romp about the conquering power of love.
