Finale NYC Review.

27 Dez Finale NYC Review.

EMM Group has been on a roll lately expanding their venue portfolio with the introductions of SL Miami, HQ at the Revel, BOW, The Estate in Sag Harbor and now their answer to Lavo – Finale NYC. Lavo has sat comfortably atop the throne as NYC’s premier venue to see A list DJ’s perform in an intimate setting, but EMM Group has something to say about that. Finale burst onto the scene enlisting all-star DJ’s such as Eric Prydz, Nervo, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, R3hab, Martin Solveig, Chris Lake and many more.

The Door

Finale is officially one of the toughest doors in NYC. We attended Finale 3 times and noticed the same things during all 3 experiences. There were 2 bouncers and 1 doorman, Luke. Luckily we had a connect, but Luke was extremely selective about who he let in, and he was trying to create a line only letting in a few people at a time resulting in a slow process. Our advice – get on a list!

Avoid missing this by getting on a list.

The Club

Upon entering Finale a creative light display will lead you to the main door. The club itself is roughly 6,000 square feet although the lay-out doesn’t make it feel that way. A bar with ample room is situated to the right of the entrance and similar to Lavo the dance floor is surrounded by tables and roped off VIP sections creating a tight dance area. Overall, there’s space to maneuver around due to the crowd or lack-of crowd…

The entrance to the main door sets the tone for the trippy vibe in Finale.

The Crowd

Well, there isn’t much of one. EMM Group has a lot of work to do in terms of hyping up Finale and generating a stronger buzz as the crowds have been light. Additionally, Finale’s tactics at the door say it all – there’s a sense of desperation they are trying to build a line outside the club anyway possible.

The dancers take up more space than the crowd.

The Experience

The Finale experience is about spunk and edge featuring a variety of dancers including half naked dancers, dancers in inflatable balls, dancers hanging from the ceiling, dancers on stilts and dancers in guerrilla costumes. The pictures below tell the full story.
